National Hunting and Fishing Day

Celebrating 40 years of recognized importance of our Outdoors Heritage

 

On September 24, 2011, the Erie County Federation of Sportsmen’s Clubs will

celebrate the 40th Annual National Hunting and Fishing Day at Elma

Conservation Club, 600 Creek Road, Elma, NY.

Starting at 10:00AM, Western New Yorkers of all ages are invited to attend this

free event, to enhance your knowledge of the natural world around us, and how

the sporting heritage protects and assures diverse wildlife and waterway treasures.

Activities include learning about:

  • Bass fishing tips and Walleye tactics

  • Stocking efforts

  • Waterways protections and Habitat/ Access Program

  • Trap shooting, Archery and Crossbow shooting

  • Reloading demos

  • Tracking wildlife

  • Trapping and fur handling

  • Waterfowl management

  • Turkey calling 

  • Retriever Demonstrations

  • The History of Conservation in WNY

  • Our friends from the DEC and their important role in conservation

  • Dangers of invasive species

  • Much, much more…

  • Free Rod and reel give a ways throughout the day

  • FREE Hot Dog Lunch from Sahlen's Hot Dogs

Event runs from 10AM-4PM, rain or shine, Saturday September 24, 2011. Come
