ERIE COUNTY FEDERATION OF SPORTSMEN’S
CLUBS, INC.
The purposes for which this
organization was formed are as set forth in the Certificate
of Incorporation, to wit:
(A) To support the
maintenance, enhancement and management of fish and game as
public resources and of their natural habitats and
environment in Western New York;
(B) To increase public
awareness of the need for and value of preserving,
protecting and managing fish and game and their natural
habitats and environment;
(C) To encourage
conservation of natural resources, including lands, forests,
waters, fish and wildlife, to combat pollution of air,
water, and land, and to promote the multiple use of our
lands, forests, and waters for recreational use by the
general public;
(D) To promote and improve
the health and well-being of individuals by providing
information about, and opportunities to participate in,
outdoor sporting activities related to fishing and hunting,
including but not limited to techniques and methods of safe
boating, fishing, and hunting; and to promote the
development of children and youth by providing information
about, and opportunities to participate in, such outdoor
sporting activities and thereby also to improve their
academic and social abilities;
(E) To lessen the burdens of
government by providing support to local, state, and federal
governmental authorities having jurisdiction over wildlife,
the environment, and fishing and hunting, including but not
limited to (1) cooperating with local, state, and federal
governmental agencies to improve and regulate outdoor sport,
including fishing and hunting, such as by encouraging public
compliance with fish and game regulations, (2) assisting the
government in maintaining and improving the stocks of fish
and game in public fishing and hunting areas in Western New
York, (3) in cooperation with government and conservation
groups, accepting and distributing all fish and game stocks
allotted to Erie County, organized groups, or individuals
therein by the New York State Department of Environmental
Conservation in accordance with its regulations governing
pro-rata distribution of all State fish and game on the
basis of licensed sportsmen, the take, and suitable cover in
respective counties or specific areas, and (4) in so
distributing fish and game stocks, to do so in a manner best
adapted for the general welfare and natural propagation of
each species and for access by the general public for
fishing and hunting;
